Responsibility
In an increasingly interconnected world, every AI invented also threatens to be misused. We want responsibly developed products that have outgrown the infancy of unbridled inventiveness.
The submitters should make it clear what the “particular dangers” of misuse are. Insofar as these are weighed against the advantages, it must be explained why the latter outweigh the former. And we want answers to the question: are there precautions against misuse – what would be the financial or other hurdles to implementing them?
As everyone in a good society bears some overall responsibility for each other, responsibility is also about setting an example. A submission is particularly worthy of an award if it has a reach beyond its actual function: namely, if the application can also be seen as a reference case for other subject areas. Applications with a multiplier role are therefore desirable.
