In Vodafone’s new DigitalPacemaker episode, Foundation Metaverse Europe founder Maren Courage and Bundestag member Mario Brandenburg spoke with Ulrich Irnich, CIO at Vodafone Germany about how the Metaverse is expected to impact society.
Episode #26 discusses the influences the Metaverse will have on our society. The guests will be Mario Brandenburg, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and Maren Courage, Managing Director of the Metaverse Europe Foundation.
Mario served as a member of the Bundestag, technology policy spokesman for the Free Democrats and chairman of the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment before being appointed Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and Research last summer.
Maren is the founder of the VR Business Club as well as the Executive Director of the Metaverse Europe Foundation, a non-profit think tank that brings together European experts, leaders and opinion leaders to promote social cohesion with a view to the Metaverse.
Uli, Markus, Maren and Mario discuss the importance of the metaverse from a societal perspective, not just a technological one. Mario and Maren are committed to working out both the expected benefits and possible risks in order to address any potential challenges at an early stage. The discussion shows that it becomes important to empower the affected groups to take ownership of the metaverse.
