Foundation Metaverse Europe Meeting with Nicola Beer, Vice President of the European Parliament
Last week we were in Brussels to place the efforts and goals we pursue with the Foundation Metaverse Europe on a European level. To further concretize this, we met Nicola Beer, Vice President in the European Parliament, among others. We talked to her in reference to the recently published initiative of the European Commission “Web.4.0 and virtual worlds”, about our positions and strategies here to actively work on realization and implementation of the tasks described therein.
We have been actively involved in the strategy formulated in the initiative with regard to the business goals to be achieved (Supporting the European Web 4.0 industrial ecosystem/ Boosting the EU’s technological capabilities/ Accelerating the uptake of new business models and solutions) for years in Germany and will continue to activate our efforts at European level in the future.
The fourth pillar of the initiative focuses on “Governance structures for Web 4.0 and virtual worlds”. The need for global standardization and interoperability in line with European values and vision was emphasized. Our Foundation Metaverse Europe, is working intensively on this issue, bringing together relevant stakeholders in the Expert Council on various core issues that need to be addressed in order to preserve European values (such as democracy, rule of law, equality, respect for human rights).
It was an exciting exchange about current challenges, changes and a review of what needs to be addressed in Europe now on the topic of Metaverse.
We look forward to leveraging the existing synergies, supporting the Foundation in joining forces and achieving the set goals in close cooperation with the European Commission and the European Parliament.
