Review of the education metaverse kick-off on 30.10.24
Yesterday saw the launch of our new Metaverse Europe Foundation initiative at Humboldt University’s gameslab Berlin, which aims to sustainably integrate immersive technologies and artificial intelligence into the education sector.
The event kicked off with fascinating live demos that showed examples of how VR can be used specifically in the school context to open up completely new learning environments for teachers and learners. In the subsequent workshop, we discussed the goals of the initiative, the requirements for its implementation and key milestones.
With the ‘Educational Metaverse Initiative’, we are focusing on combining XR technologies and AI to create personalised and inclusive learning spaces and thus promote digital equality of opportunity. Our aim is to bring practical applications to schools, vocational schools and child and youth welfare centres. In doing so, we place the highest value on ethical and data protection standards. Successful models from the business world are to be adapted for the educational landscape and utilised on a large scale.
